The Simbi Washing Station

The Simbi washing station is located in the Huye district, in the Southern Province of Rwanda.
Simbi is a private washing station, run by Abdul, inspired by his grandmother. She herself was a coffee producer and one of the few rural Rwandan women who roasted and tasted their own coffee every day, out of passion and tradition.

The station was built between 2011 and 2012, and its first season took place in 2013 with 85 employees, 80% of whom were women.
That same year, Simbi participated for the first time in the Rwanda Cup of Excellence and ranked 9th out of 159 samples — an exceptional start!
